7x9 wool rugs in modern designs — hand-knotted and hand-tufted in premium New Zealand wool by master artisans in Bhadohi, India. The step between the 6x9 and 8x10, for rooms where the 6x9 isn't wide enough and the 8x10 would be too large. Every design available in custom sizes.

7x9 Rugs: The Gap Between Two Standards

Most buyers searching for a 7x9 have already looked at 6x9 and 8x10. The 6x9 isn't wide enough — the rug doesn't extend adequately on the sides of the sofa, or the dining chairs slip off the edge. The 8x10 would work on the width but runs too long for the room. The 7x9 fills that gap precisely, and because most retailers don't stock it, Jubi's made-to-order model is the straightforward answer.

In a living room, front-legs-on with a standard sofa and two chairs, a 7x9 extends 12 to 18 inches beyond the sofa on each side — the correct proportion for a 7-foot-wide seating group. In a dining room for four to six, the 9-foot length covers the table ends with chair clearance while the 7-foot width extends past both sides. In a bedroom, it shows generously on the sides of a queen or king bed and at the foot.
