8x8 wool rugs in square and round formats — hand-tufted in premium New Zealand wool by master artisans in Bhadohi, India. Generous primary room scale for square dining tables, square living rooms, and large conversation groupings. Rarely stocked at retail — every design made to order. Every design available in custom sizes.

8x8 Rugs: The Large Square

An 8x8 rug is a significant design commitment. At 64 square feet, it's large enough to serve as the primary floor covering in most rooms, and in square format it brings a geometric clarity that a rectangle at similar scale doesn't. Under a 6-person square dining table at 60 inches across, an 8x8 extends past the table on all sides with 24 inches of clearance — the standard that keeps chairs on the rug when pulled out. In a square living room, it aligns with the room's geometry and makes the floor feel architecturally intentional.

This is a size that essentially doesn't exist at retail. Most rug companies stock 8x10 and nothing square at this scale — which means the buyer searching for an 8x8 is a buyer who has measured, has a specific room in mind, and needs a made-to-order piece.
