Yes — we exclusively use wool for all of our rugs, primarily New Zealand wool for its exceptional softness, strength, and rich color depth. It's a renewable, biodegradable material that holds up beautifully over time. Learn more about why we use it here.
Each technique has a distinct texture, feel, and construction. Here's a quick overview:
Tufted Rugs: Plush and sculptural, ideal for bold shapes and everyday comfort
Knotted Rugs: Time-intensive, ultra-durable, and great for intricate patterns
Shag Rugs: Deep, soft pile — cozy and statement-making
Loomed Rugs: Flatwoven and versatile, ideal for layering or low-profile spaces
Oushak Rugs: Hand-knotted with soft, antique-inspired patterns
If you’re unsure which one fits your space, explore our Types of Rugs page — or get in touch and we’ll help you decide.
Yes. Our rugs are made from high-quality wool and constructed by expert artisans. For high-traffic areas, we often recommend low-pile tufted or knotted styles for maximum longevity. Not sure what’s best for your space? We’re happy to advise — start by exploring rug types.
Absolutely. You can customize the size, shape, color palette, and technique — or even create something completely original with us. Start with our Custom Rugs page or try the Online Rug Customizer to see designs in your own colors instantly.
The right size depends on your room, furniture layout, and how much floor you want to cover. We make all sizes — including oversized and custom shapes. For tips, check out our Rug Size Guide or reach out for help.
Color can shift the entire feel of a space. If you're unsure where to begin, browse our Rugs by Color guide — or try the Online Rug Customizer to test out palettes. You can also send photos of your space, and we’ll help you choose or match colors.
We photograph all rugs in natural light and from multiple angles to show true color and texture. Color may still appear slightly different depending on your screen or the lighting in your space, and we do our best to show those variations in our photos. Because each rug is handmade, subtle differences in pattern or texture are normal — and part of what makes yours one of a kind.
Tufted rugs typically ship in 2–3 weeks. Knotted, loomed, shag, and Oushak rugs take 4–6 weeks. All rugs are made to order and shipped directly to your door. For more details, visit our Handmade Rugs page.
We accept returns on non-custom rugs within 5 days of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee. Custom rugs are final sale. For full details, see our Return Policy.
You can cancel within 24 hours of purchase. Because we begin production shortly after you order, changes or cancellations after that window are not guaranteed. If you need to make an adjustment, reach out and we’ll do our best to help.
All wool rugs shed slightly at first, especially tufted and shag styles. Shedding will decrease with regular vacuuming and use. This is normal and doesn’t affect the quality or lifespan of the rug. For more on what to expect, visit our Rug Care Guide.
Most rugs will relax on their own within a few days. To help, roll the rug in the opposite direction, place heavy books or furniture on the corners, or flip the rug upside down to let the fibers settle naturally. We don’t recommend using steam. For more tips, visit our Rug Care Guide.
Vacuum regularly using suction only (no beater bar). Blot spills with a clean cloth — avoid rubbing or soaking. For deeper cleaning or stubborn stains, we recommend a professional rug cleaner. For care details by technique, head to our Rug Care Guide.
