New Zealand wool renders color with unusual clarity, giving sculpted curves and carved transitions a crisp, dimensional finish. The fiber is naturally resilient, dense, and comfortable underfoot — ideal for rugs with a bold, architectural silhouette.
Each piece is hand-tufted in Bhadohi, India, where artisans shape the contours and carve the relief by hand. Their technical precision brings depth and definition to the design, resulting in a rug with weight, structure, and a tactile surface that holds its form over time.
Behind the Design
The Sculpted Edge Rug began with a single question: what if the edge was the design? Instead of treating the perimeter as a boundary, the scalloped silhouette becomes the defining gesture, shaping how the rug sits in a room and how the eye moves across it. Hand-tufted in plush wool, each curve is formed and carved by hand, giving the rug its cloud-like presence and distinctive profile.
Our rugs are produced in partnership with a family-run workshop in Bhadohi, where the craft of rug-making has been passed down through generations. Each piece is made to order using natural materials, reducing excess production and ensuring every rug is created with intention.
We source New Zealand wool responsibly and dye in controlled quantities to maintain consistency while minimizing waste. Working in small batches and avoiding mass manufacturing allows us to support a more thoughtful supply chain — one that respects both the people involved and the resources used.
