Oval Rugs: The Format Between Round and Rectangular
The oval occupies a specific space in the rug market that most collections don't serve well. It has the softness of round — the curved perimeter that reduces the visual rigidity of a rectangle — but it works in elongated spaces where a circle would feel geometrically wrong. It suits rooms and furniture arrangements that have length and directionality, where a round rug would fight the proportions and a rectangle would feel blunt.
Under an oval or boat-shaped dining table, the oval rug is the natural match.
