This solid color rug is a restful field of heathered wool, where fine tonal flecks shift through the surface and catch the light so the color reads richer in some passages and softer in others. It comes in five heathered tones: a grounding green, a deep blue, a warm brown, a soft mauve, and a pale cream, finished with or without fringe. From across the room it settles into one grounding tone; up close, the hand-knotted texture gives it quiet movement. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.5 inch pile, a firm, low surface that keeps the color dense and even underfoot. Each rug is made to order in any size, including oversized, so a single heathered tone can scale from a small accent to a room-spanning floor. Hand-knotting takes time and detail, so each piece is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-knotted

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 0.5"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

What a Solid Color Rug Does in a Room

A solid color rug works as a foundation rather than a focal point. Without a pattern to read, the eye takes in the color as a single field, which is why a solid grounds a space and lets everything above it, the sofa, the art, the light, stand out more clearly. A heathered green like this one adds something a flat color cannot: the tonal flecks give the surface depth, so it stays interesting underfoot while still reading as calm and restful from a distance. It pairs easily with wood, leather, and natural fibers, and brings a cozy, settled feeling to a living room or bedroom.

Hand-knotting is what gives the color its richness. Each knot is tied by hand into a dense, fine pile, holding subtle gradations of tone that a flatter weave would flatten out. That density also makes the rug durable and heirloom-grade, built to hold its color through years of use. Browse more in our Solid Color Rugs and Hand-Knotted Rugs. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so this green can be woven in the exact size your room needs.
