3x5 Rugs: The Most Versatile Small Size

The 3x5 is where accent rugs start doing primary room work. At 15 square feet, it's large enough to anchor a small seating arrangement — the front legs of a loveseat, a small sofa and one chair — in a compact apartment living room or studio where an 8x10 would overwhelm the space. It's the right bedside size for a queen bed when the room can accommodate a rug that shows generously on one side. In an entryway, it extends into the hall, covering the transition from door to interior with real presence rather than a token marker.
