A square geometric rug solves a specific problem: square or near-square rooms, where a long rectangle would leave the proportions feeling off. Octagon Link takes to the format naturally, because its linked-octagon lattice is already a grid, and a square frame lets that grid sit evenly on all four sides. Center it under a square coffee table, a round dining table, or a four-seat conversation group, and the symmetry of the pattern does the work of pulling the arrangement together. In a wider room, two squares set side by side can define separate zones while keeping one consistent language underfoot.
Hand-knotting keeps the lattice true to its square. Each knot is tied by hand around the foundation, then sheared to a low, dense pile, so the octagons hold their shape and the connecting lines stay parallel edge to edge. That same density is what lets a square rug take central, everyday traffic for years without the geometry going soft.
