Made to order · Arrives

A hand-drawn grid carried down the full length of a geometric runner rug: Gridline's black lines cross the wool with a slight wander, thickening in one place and thinning in the next, and the wide, low cells come out a little different as they go, so the runner reads as a long strip of sketchbook grid. On a green or a rust ground, the black lines hold their weight either way. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India. It is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.5 inch pile, dense and low, so the drawn lines stay crisp under daily footsteps and the runner lies flat beneath doors and against thresholds. Made to order in any length and width and in either colorway, so it can run a hallway, line a kitchen galley, lie along a bedside, or sit in front of a long counter. It is made in 5 to 6 weeks, then ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-knotted

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 0.5"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

Shipping: Knotted rugs are handmade to order and typically ship within 5–6 weeks. Once dispatched, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

Our Picks for You

Rhythm Along a Geometric Runner Rug

A geometric runner rug sets a pace for anyone walking it, and the pace Gridline sets is a human one. Its cells were drawn by hand and hand-knotted that way, so they arrive at slightly different widths and the grid never falls into a mechanical count. In a long hall that small variation keeps the eye moving forward without marching it. The same quality is welcome along a kitchen counter, at the foot of a bed, or beside a bench in an entry, anywhere a strip of floor wants order with some give. Stop the runner a hand's width short of the end walls so the last row of cells reads whole, and leave floor visible on both sides.

Every Gridline runner is hand-knotted, each knot tied by hand, so the black lines can lean and swell wherever the drawing did and stay put under years of foot traffic. The low pile clears most door sweeps, and the grid shows faintly on the back where the knots wrap the foundation, a mark of a rug made this way.
