Interlocking right-angle lines nest inside one another, run flat across a wide band, then pivot and tighten again into squared concentric corners, a geometric rug whose route never resolves quite where you reach for it. Deep teal-green and warm peach alternate line for line at equal weight, so neither tone becomes a ground for the other and the pattern holds its tension from any side of the room. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.75 inch pile, dense enough to hold each turn crisply and soft enough to sit on. Made to order in any size and any of over 1,200 wool colors, so the two tones can run close and tonal or sharp and graphic. Each piece is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

Shipping: Knotted rugs are handmade to order and typically ship within 5–6 weeks. Once dispatched, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

How an Art Deco Rug Uses the Right Angle

Art Deco design put its faith in the straight line: stepped forms, nested rectangles, and repeated bands that build depth without a single curve. Maze works in that lineage, though it takes the idea further than a border would. Instead of framing the field, the lines fill it, nesting inward, breaking into long parallel runs, then squaring off again, so the geometry becomes the whole composition rather than an edge treatment.

Hand-knotting is what keeps that geometry legible. Each knot is tied by hand onto the foundation, building a dense, even surface that holds a right angle exactly where it was drawn, with a 0.75 inch pile deep enough to feel underfoot but short enough that the lines never blur. A pattern this dependent on precision is difficult to reproduce in a printed or machine-made piece, where tight turns soften.

It suits a room with clean architecture and low, modern seating, where the horizontal runs echo the furniture rather than compete with it.
