Interval is a striped wool rug that sets short stacked bars into shifting columns that interlock a beat off from one another, so the pattern feels structured and softly rhythmic at the same time. Rust and terracotta carry the field, broken by warm cream and a muted sage green that keep the grid from ever reading rigid, and the bars stay sharp where each column meets the next. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from dense 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.5 inch pile, a firm low surface that holds the pattern's fine edges and wears for generations. It is made to order in any size, including oversized, and any of over 1,200 wool colors, with Blue, Green, Red, and a warm Multicolor among the standard ways to take it. Each rug is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-knotted

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 0.5"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

Shipping: Knotted rugs are handmade to order and typically ship within 5–6 weeks. Once dispatched, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

Returns: Rugs may be returned within 15 days of delivery with a 15% restocking fee. Custom rugs are final sale, except in cases of shipping damage. Read our return policy for full details.

What Makes a Striped Rug Like Interval Work

A striped rug guides a room the way a good floor plan does, pulling the eye along its lines and lending order to open space. Interval pushes that idea a step further: instead of continuous lines it stacks short bars into columns and offsets them, so the stripe rhythm breaks and resumes across the field. That measured, repeating beat reads distinctly mid-century modern, the same restrained geometry that defined the era's interiors, which is why Interval settles in so naturally beside walnut, low seating, and clean-lined frames. Run the columns lengthwise to stretch a narrow room, or turn them across to widen one. The warm rust, sage, and cream palette grounds the pattern without competing with it.

Hand-knotting is what holds the pattern this precise. Artisans in Bhadohi tie each knot by hand around the foundation, a slow method that keeps the bar edges crisp and gives the rug its dense, heirloom-grade body.
