A scalloped rug trades the hard corners of a standard rectangle for a soft, repeating curve, and that small change does a lot of work. The rounded edge breaks up straight architecture, so the rug feels gentler underfoot and friendlier in a room full of square furniture. Because this design pairs that scalloped outline with a single solid color, the shape stays the focus: there is no pattern to read, just a plush wool field and the wave that frames it. That makes it easy to place. Set it under a bed so the curves spill past the frame, float it in a nursery or reading nook, or use it to soften the foot of a sofa where the scallops echo rounded seating. Hand-tufting is what lets the edge hold its shape: artisans set New Zealand wool through a backing by hand, then carve and shear the surface, so the high pile stays dense and the scalloped border reads crisp rather than ragged. A round version extends the same idea, and you can see more curved formats in our Round Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so this one can be woven to the exact size your space needs.
