A runner earns its keep in the long, narrow spaces a standard rug cannot fill, and Watercolor Checkered suits them especially well. In a hallway, leave a few inches of floor showing on each side and a foot or so at either end, so the painterly checker frames the walkway rather than wedging against the baseboards. In a galley kitchen, a runner laid in front of the sink and counter cushions the spot you stand in most, and the muted blues, plums, and sage greens forgive the inevitable splashes far better than a pale solid would. Length matters more than width here: measure the open stretch of floor first, then choose a runner that fills it with a comfortable margin at each end rather than one that stops abruptly mid-room. Because the design is hand-tufted, the wool pile stays soft and dense underfoot through years of daily traffic, and the painterly checker repeat reads cleanly at any length you specify. Browse the full range in our Runner Rugs collection, or see the wider palette story in Colorful Rugs. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so this runner can be woven to your exact length and color.
