Anchoring a Room with a Chevron Square Rug
A chevron square rug brings a settled, symmetrical footprint that a rectangle does not, which is why it suits seating arrangements built around a center. Set it under a square coffee table or a tight conversation grouping so the black-and-white wave frames the gathering on all four equal sides, or use it to define a square zone in an open-plan room. The balanced format keeps the bold pattern from feeling directional, so it reads the same whichever way you walk in.
Hand-tufting gives the square its surface. Artisans set New Zealand wool through a stretched backing by hand, then carve the pile so the cream ribbon stands just proud of the black ground, holding the curve crisply corner to corner. That hand-worked relief is what keeps a large square field from reading flat.
A square also makes the most of the motif in compact rooms, where a rectangle would waste floor at one end and the symmetry keeps a small space feeling intentional.
