A burgundy rug works like a low, warm note under everything above it. Orlo's deep wine field is saturated enough to ground a space yet soft in tone thanks to its mottled shading, so it reads rich rather than heavy. It pairs naturally with warm woods, brass, cream upholstery, and leather, and the slim gold end bands pick up metallic accents already in the room. In a living room it pulls seating into a cohesive whole; in a bedroom the long shag pile spills warmth past the bed frame and softens the floor underfoot. Because the color carries so much of the character, the surface itself matters: knotted as a shag, each knot is tied by hand by master artisans and left at a generous 1.5 inch pile, giving the deep red a plush, light-catching depth that a flat weave could not hold. The mottled shading keeps the field from ever looking like a single block of red, so the rug feels alive in changing light. The result is color you feel as much as see, anchored in the soft New Zealand wool that gives the pile its weight. Explore more in our Burgundy Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so Orlo can be woven in the exact size your room needs.
