A geometric rug like Masonry brings order to a space the way a grid brings order to a page. The repeating squares set up a steady rhythm underfoot, which is why this kind of pattern grounds open-plan rooms and anchors furniture that might otherwise float. Because the grid is regular but the tones shift across it, Masonry reads as structured without feeling rigid, pairing easily with clean modern lines or softening a room of mixed pieces. Set it under a dining table where the courses run with the length of the room, or in a living area where the raised squares catch low light.
Hand-tufting is what gives the pattern its depth. Working from the back of a stretched canvas, artisans set New Zealand wool through the foundation by hand, then shear and carve the surface so each square stands proud of the darker matrix. That relief is hard to achieve in a flat weave, which makes the technique a natural fit for a grid built on tactile contrast. See more in our Geometric Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so Masonry can be woven to the size your room calls for.
