An abstract rug works less like a pattern and more like a piece of art set on the floor, and Color Study leans into that with bands of pure, blocked color rather than a repeating motif. Because the composition is built on broad horizontal fields, it reads cleanly from a distance and gives a room a confident focal point, so the rest of the space can stay calm around it. It pairs well with solid upholstery and simple wood tones, where the brick red, blue, and orange can carry the energy on their own. Hand-tufting is what keeps each color block so distinct: artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through a backing by hand, then shear the surface level, so neighboring bands meet at clean edges without bleeding into one another. That control over individual fields is harder to hold in a flat weave, which is why the technique suits a design built on blocks of color. Explore more in our Abstract Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so Color Study can be woven in the size and palette your room calls for.
