Will my rug look exactly like the photos?

Every rug is handmade, so slight variations in color and texture are natural. Screen settings can also affect how colors appear. If accuracy matters, request a swatch before ordering

How to Style a Scalloped Rug

A scalloped rug works differently from a hard-edged rectangle. The wavy, petal-like border draws the eye along its curves rather than into corners, so Burst softens a room with straight architecture and sits comfortably beside rounded or low, modern furniture. Float it under a coffee table where the full set of rings reads, or let the scalloped edge spill past the foot of a bed. Because the outline is an oval, it shares the easy, table-anchoring quality of round rugs while giving a touch more length for a seating group or a hallway landing.

Hand-tufting is what gives the scallops their depth. Working from the back of a stretched canvas, artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through the foundation by hand, then carve and shear the surface so each ring stands in relief. That carved dimension is hard to achieve in a flat weave, which is exactly why the technique suits a design built on rippling, raised bands.
