Jubi’s original palette for this design. Every wool in it can be changed above.

Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Axis is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

Where the Pattern Lands: A Mid Century Modern Rug Around Your Furniture

Axis is a design with a clear center, so the first question is what sits on it. Under a sofa and coffee table, let the column run the length of the seating so the table lands on the center panel and the sofa's front legs rest on the side panels, with the corner blocks showing past the arms. In a dining room, size the rug so chairs pull back onto the panels rather than off the edge, with the column aligned to the table's long axis. In a bedroom, let the column emerge past the foot of the bed, where the eye lands first.

The Jubi Customizer takes dimensions to the inch, so you decide exactly where each line falls. Palette shifts the hierarchy: a dark column against pale panels makes the spine the focus; a tonal palette lets the gridlines do the work. Custom colors are chosen layer by layer, so the center can answer a sofa and the corners pick up a lamp.

Hand-tufting in our Bhadohi studio gives each block a dense, even pile, and the gridlines are tufted as single lines of wool, so the frame reads as drawn. Axis sits in Mid Century Modern Rugs and among our Customizable Rugs, and runs naturally in Runner Rugs. Each rug is tufted to the dimensions you enter.
