We photograph all rugs in natural light to show the most accurate color and texture possible. That said, color is always influenced by its surroundings—lighting type, time of day, direction of your windows, even nearby colors can all subtly shift how a rug appears in your space. This is true of all textiles and materials.
Each rug is made by hand, so slight variations in color and detailing are natural and part of what makes your piece uniquely yours.
Yes. This hand-knotted wool rug is built for long-term wear, making it a strong choice for high-traffic areas like living rooms, dining rooms, and offices. Its textured surface and patterned grid also help conceal everyday signs of use, while the calming green tone works well in both casual and formal spaces.
Choosing the right rug size depends on your room layout, furniture placement, and how much floor you want to cover. Our Rug Size Guide walks you through what works best in living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, and more—plus tips for common layouts and sizing visuals to help you decide.
Vacuum regularly using low suction to protect the fibers. Blot spills immediately with a clean, damp cloth–avoid rubbing. For deep cleaning or tough stains, we recommend professional rug care.
Rugs ship rolled, so slight creasing is normal. The fibers will naturally relax over time. To speed up the process, you can gently lay the rug upside down for a day or place books on any raised edges.
You can find more tips in our Rug Care Guide.

Hand-Drawn Lines in Rich Wool
The Gridline Hand-Knotted Wool Rug combines a clean geometric framework with the subtle irregularity of a hand-rendered grid. Available in mossy green or rich rust, this design works equally well as a green living room rug, a sage green area rug, or a rust wool rug with warm, earthy character. The pattern feels modern yet approachable, pairing the precision of geometric rugs with the softness and organic depth of hand-knotted construction. Whether styled as a mid-century modern rug, a farmhouse dining room rug, or a graphic statement piece in a contemporary setting, Gridline brings structure with a distinctly handcrafted feel.
Sizes, Shapes, and Customization
Available in popular dimensions like 5x8, 6x9, 8x10, and 9x12, the Modern Gridline Rug can also be made in custom sizes, including oversized formats like 10x14 or 12x15. Whether you need a large area rug for an open-plan living room, a 5x7 rug for a bedroom, or a runner for a dining space, this piece adapts to your layout. For those looking for green geometric rugs, modern wool rugs, or a black and green rug with a subtle graphic touch, Gridline offers the right mix of presence and adaptability. The green version leans toward a sage or olive green rug aesthetic, perfect for pairing with natural woods and neutral textiles. The rust colorway evokes terracotta rugs, burnt orange rugs, and deep red-orange accents, ideal for adding warmth to modern interiors. As a checkered rug alternative, it offers a more relaxed, hand-drawn take on the grid pattern.
This design is also available as a square rug, runner rug, and all custom shapes and sizes. Learn more on our custom rugs page.
