Muted and soft, taupe is the most easygoing way to read this geometric rug: octagons set in even, tidy rows and tied together by a fine connecting grid, the surface settled and calm. The tone lays down structure without color noise, which makes it a genuinely versatile neutral, pairing with almost any palette from warm woods to cooler greys. It grounds a room quietly, letting the linked motif read as fine texture underfoot rather than a statement that competes for the eye. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.5 inch pile that keeps the knotted detail crisp and each octagon clearly outlined. This colorway is made to order in any size, including oversized, so the linked geometry can be woven to the exact dimensions your room needs while holding its even, repeating balance. Each rug is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-knotted

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 0.5"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

Shipping: Knotted rugs are handmade to order and typically ship within 5–6 weeks. Once dispatched, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

Using a Taupe Geometric Rug as a Neutral Base

A geometric rug in taupe brings structure to a room while staying soft and easy to live with. In Octagon Link, the linked octagons give a clear, repeating rhythm, and the muted tone keeps that rhythm low-key, so the pattern grounds a space without pulling focus. It works as a flexible neutral, letting furniture and walls set the tone while the connecting grid stays a fine, understated structure beneath them.

Hand-knotting keeps the geometry exact. Each knot is tied by hand around the foundation, so the octagons hold their even sides and the links between them stay precise even at large sizes. The fine, hand-tied density is what lets the muted taupe stay smooth and even rather than mottled across a wide surface. The low 0.5 inch pile gives a dense, durable surface that wears well in everyday rooms, with a firm, even height that keeps furniture steady on top. Because the motif repeats evenly, the rug holds its balanced, settled look across small accent sizes and wide room-spanning ones alike.
