Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Inclinato is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

Custom Colors for a Diamond Rug: Border and Field

Two layers, one relationship. On Inclinato the whole palette question is how the border meets the field. A dark border on a pale field is the mod reading, the outline doing the work, and it suits rooms with light floors where the rug needs an edge. Reverse it, a pale border on a deep field, and the diamond becomes a block of color with a thin bright rim, which sits well on dark wood. Keep the two close in value and the tilt turns subtle, something you notice from the doorway rather than up close.

Hand-tufting in our Bhadohi studio keeps that relationship clean. New Zealand wool is set through the backing by hand and sheared to one height across border and field, so the boundary between them is a line of color with no change in texture. On a design that depends on one crisp outline, an even surface is what lets the edge read as drawn.

Inclinato is made through the Customizable Rugs collection, where you choose its custom colors for border and field and enter exact dimensions down to the inch. Each rug is tufted to the measurements you give us, the diamond re-centered on the floor you have.
