The Sketchbook
Behind The Design
The motif draws on mid-century textile experiments, where simple grids were pushed off-beat until the eye started to move across them. Each panel keeps its own scale and color story, so the surface reads as a conversation between three patterns meeting edge to edge.

Amazing product. Took about a month to arrive, but was worth the wait. Customer service is great too. I realized I had under estimated the size of rug I needed about 10+ days after ordering. I reached out to customer service, and they were able to update the size and send me an invoice for the rest. Colors are beautiful and looks just like the pictures. Plush and great quality!
Thank you so much for your kind review, Meghan! We're so glad everything worked out with the size adjustment and that we were able to update your order before production. It's wonderful to hear you're happy with the colors, quality, and overall feel of the rug. We truly appreciate your patience during the made-to-order process, and we're thrilled it was worth the wait. Thank you again for choosing Jubi, we hope you enjoy your rug for years to come!
A mid century modern rug earns its place by holding pattern and restraint at once, and Kinetics I does it by splitting the floor into three grid panels rather than one repeating motif. The cream, terracotta, and cobalt bands each keep their own scale, so the rug gives a room geometry and color from a single field. Set it under a low walnut table or a tapered-leg sofa and the windowpane lines echo the era's clean joinery, while the off-beat squares keep the look from feeling like a reproduction.
Hand-tufting is what gives the grid its hand. Working from the back of a stretched canvas, artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through the foundation by hand, then shear the surface so each square stands just above its line. That slight relief is what makes the pattern move underfoot and under light, and it is the detail that separates a hand-tufted grid from a printed one.
