Brown and Tan Checkered Rug

I am very much enjoying my new Jubi rug. I think it took a little longer than the projected lead time on their website, but for being a 100% wool, hand made rug, patience is needed. The rug itself is fairly thick and plush, and feels great under foot. The tassels are nicely knotted, and it generally feels pretty well made. There are a couple long threads that need some snipping, and only time will tell how well it holds up to our two cats. It has been shedding (which is fairly standard with a new, wool rug). The one caveat is that the rug is very differently colored than the product photos. The photo of the rug really just shows a dark brown pattern with various tan colors in between. The actual rug is charcoal (not dark brown) with tan, orange, and pink between. As an interior designer, I know first hand how tough rugs can be in color selection. I do think the website needs to have a better representation of the colors in the rug (and possible colors in the rug) and some context photos and close up photos of their rugs. Because of this I have waffled between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately I want more fun rugs in this world, and appreciate the unique nature of Jubi's designs.

Thank you for your thoughtful review, Kelly! We’re so glad you’re enjoying your rug and appreciate your patience with the handmade process. Shedding and a few long threads are totally normal with new wool rugs, but we’re happy to provide care tips if needed!

We truly appreciate your feedback about color representation. While we work hard to capture accurate photos, we know that colors can sometimes appear differently in different lighting or screens. Your insights are super helpful as we continue refining our images to better reflect each rug’s unique tones.

Your support for fun, unique rugs means the world to us! If there’s anything we can do to make your experience even better, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
