Undulating bands of teal and seafoam carve across a curving silhouette, giving this rug a sculptural, layered dimension. The form recalls shifting landscapes and waterlines, while the carved pile height adds depth and shadow. Hand-tufted from New Zealand wool, it creates a bold statement piece with plush texture for living rooms, bedrooms, or open interiors.

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen over time. Vacuum regularly with the beater bar set to the highest setting. If loose ends appear, clip with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning only. See our rug care guide for more tips.

Shipping: Tufted rugs are handmade to order and typically take 2–3 weeks to produce and dispatch. Once shipped, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

Returns: Rugs may be returned within 15 days of delivery. A restocking fee may apply. Read our return policy for full details.

The Sketchbook

Behind The Design

Water rarely moves in straight lines, and Undula follows its lead. The design takes a single curvy hourglass silhouette and rings it with nested wavy curves that ripple outward, each band echoing the one before it so the surface reads as one continuous, rhythmic motion.

Pencil design sketches for the Undula hand-tufted wool rug, showing nested concentric curves flowing into soft, irregular wave shapes.

The Craft

Made the Long Way

Your rug doesn’t exist yet. It starts when you order: master artisans spin the wool, dye it to your color, then tuft and carve it by hand.

What Makes a Scalloped Rug Work in a Room

A scalloped rug trades the firm corners of a rectangle for a soft, wavering outline, and that changes how it sits in a space. Undula's nested curves draw the eye inward toward its open center, which keeps the form from feeling restless even at large sizes. Because the edge undulates rather than cuts a hard line, it pairs naturally with rounded furniture, curved seating, and rooms where you want flow rather than strict geometry. Float it under a coffee table so the scalloped border stays visible, or let it spill past the foot of a bed.

Hand-tufting is what gives those curves their relief. Working from the back of a stretched canvas, artisans set New Zealand wool through the foundation by hand, then shear and carve the surface so each band stands just proud of the next. That carved definition is hard to achieve in a flat weave, which is why the technique suits a design built on rippling, layered motion.

Every Jubi rug is made to order, so Undula can be woven in the size and palette your room calls for.
