Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Crescent Stripe is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

Fitting a Striped Rug to the Room, Arc by Arc

With a striped rug, proportion is the whole decision. Band width and how far each curve travels before meeting the edge both change with the size of the piece, so Crescent Stripe is set up in the Jubi Customizer to be sized to the inch. Enter the floor you actually have, the gap between sofa and wall or the span under a dining table, and the arcs re-flow to that field: the bands keep their relative widths and the curve stays long and unhurried at a bedside or across a full living room.

Color is the second decision, made layer by layer. The ground sets the temperature of the room, the crescents carry the main sweep, and the accent and two stripes do the fine work, so custom colors can take the design from rust and lavender to tonal neutrals or a single dark line on pale wool, previewed before you order.

Hand-tufting then makes exactly that piece. Artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through a stretched foundation by hand and carve along every arc so the edges stay crisp at your chosen scale.
