Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Fieldwork is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

How a Geometric Rug Adapts to Square, Runner, Round, and Oval

Fieldwork is made of horizontals, so its outline is a design decision in itself. In a square the composition sits in balanced thirds, the two blocks landing under a coffee table. In a runner the bands run long and the pinstripes become the rhythm you walk beside down a hall. Round and oval take the corners off the plan, so the bands read as chords across a circle and the deep top band becomes a cap rather than a block.

Choose the outline for the furniture: a square under a square table or in a reading corner, a runner in a hallway or along a bed, round or oval where a room's circulation curves. Then set the palette, in close tonal steps that let the structure do the work, or custom colors that pull two or three tones from the room.

Hand-tufting keeps the plan sharp. In our Bhadohi studio, New Zealand wool is set through the backing by hand, then sheared level so every band edge and pinstripe stays clean at any outline. Browse Geometric Rugs, see Runner Rugs and Square Rugs for the shapes, or compare every design in Customizable Rugs. Each Fieldwork is tufted to the dimensions and outline you choose.
