Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Golden Geometry is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

Colors for a Geometric Rug, Chosen by the Room's Light

A geometric rug this spare lives on three colors and how they meet. Golden Geometry's ground takes most of the floor, so choose it against the light: in cool north light a warm ground, bone or sand, keeps the floor from turning grey, while a south-facing room can take a deeper ground. The circle is the color the eye lands on, so make it the one you want to see all day.

Then the floor and walls. A pale ground on a pale oak floor needs the stripes to carry the edge, so give the lines a tone darker than the ground; on dark walnut the ground does that work and the lines can fade. Walls set the circle: pick a color that sits apart from the paint, so the sun stays a shape. Custom colors for all three layers make these choices yours.

Hand-tufting lets the lines be carved rather than drawn. In our Bhadohi studio the wool is set by hand through the foundation, then the horizon is cut into the pile so it reads in relief.
