Jubi’s original palette for this design. Every wool in it can be changed above.

Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Each knot is tied by hand around the warp, one at a time, then trimmed level. It is the slowest way to make a rug and the most durable: fine detail, a dense pile, and a rug built to outlast the room it was made for.

Interval is hand-knotted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

A Striped Rug Palette for the Light, Floor, and Walls

Interval carries three layers, a base and two stripes, which gives it more range in a room than a two-color stripe. Read the light first. In a north-facing room with cool daylight, a warm base pulls the floor toward you and the stripes can go cooler for contrast; in a bright, south-facing room, the Blue or Green starting colorway holds its color without washing out.

Then look down and around. On a dark floor, keep the base a step lighter than the boards so the rug has an edge; on pale boards, a deeper base anchors the furniture. For the walls, take one stripe from the wall color so the rug belongs to the room, and let the second stripe be the odd note, a red against greens, a chalk against blues. The Jubi Customizer sets custom colors for all three layers, so each of those decisions is yours to test before anything is knotted.

Hand-knotting in our Bhadohi studio suits a design of small bars: each knot is tied by hand, so the ends of every bar stay square and the dense, low pile wears hard. See the family in Striped Rugs and Hand-Knotted Rugs, or every design in Customizable Rugs. Interval is knotted to the dimensions you enter.
