Wool dyed to order for each palette

Material and Make

New Zealand wool, dyed to your palette.

Hand-tufted rugs are made by working yarn through a stretched canvas, then shearing and sculpting the pile by hand. The result is a dense, soft surface with clean edges to every shape, and the freedom to carve texture into the design.

Solid Color is hand-tufted to order in Jubi’s Bhadohi studio. Its 100% New Zealand wool is dyed to the palette you choose, then the finished rug is bound and checked by hand before it ships.

Picking a Custom Color for a Solid Color Rug

With a solid, the color is the whole decision, so make it against the room rather than the screen. A rug that matches the sofa disappears. One a few steps darker than the floor anchors the furniture. One that picks up a minor color, a cushion or the spine of a book, pulls the space together without announcing how. Light matters too: north light cools a tone and warm bulbs push it toward amber, so a mid green reads sage by day and olive by night.

The Jubi Customizer gives you fifteen starting colorways, cream through black, butter yellow to forest green, and lets you set the field in a custom color of your own. Decide the size first, since a tone that feels bold on a 4 by 6 settles down across a 10 by 14 and becomes the ground the furniture sits on.

Hand-tufting suits a solid. In our Bhadohi studio, New Zealand wool is set through the backing by hand and sheared to a level 0.75 inch pile, so the tone sits in one soft plane. See the range in Solid Color Rugs, or compare every design in Customizable Rugs. Each one is tufted to the dimensions you enter, in the color you choose.
