New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen over time. Vacuum regularly with the beater bar set to the highest setting. If loose ends appear, clip with scissors (do not pull). What Makes a Scalloped Rug Work in a Room

A scalloped rug like Zen Garden leans on its outline as much as its surface. The rounded, rippling edges soften the corners of a space and pull the eye toward the center, which makes the rug feel like a settled anchor rather than a hard frame on the floor. It sits naturally under a low coffee table or at the foot of a bed, where the concentric rings have room to read and the curved edge can spill past the furniture.

Hand-tufting is what gives those rings their depth. Working from the back of a stretched canvas, artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through the foundation by hand, then shear and carve the surface so each band stands in relief. That carved, sculptural effect is difficult to reach in a flat weave, which is why the technique suits a design built on raked, concentric lines.
