In Camel, Haven warms to a golden caramel, a tan wool rug worked as a heathered melange so the field moves between honey and deeper amber instead of holding one flat tone. The low, even pile catches light along its length and gives the surface a soft luster, closer to sunlit leather than to a solid block of color. It is a warm neutral with enough saturation to carry a room on its own, easy against cream plaster, pale oak, and rattan, and steady beside walnut or black. Designed in New York and hand-loomed in Bhadohi, India, Haven is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.5 inch pile that keeps the texture smooth and refined underfoot. The Camel colorway is woven to order in the dimensions your room calls for, whether that is an accent beside a bed or a full living-room floor. Every piece is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-loomed

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 0.5"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

Our Picks for You

Choosing a Warm Neutral Rug for a Living Room

A warm neutral rug like Camel does something a pale one cannot: it holds the floor with actual color while still reading as a background. The golden tone carries enough saturation to anchor a seating group and enough restraint to sit under almost anything, which makes it a useful floor for rooms with a lot of white wall or a lot of glass. Haven's heathered surface is what keeps that warmth from going flat, since closely related tones drift across the field and give the color somewhere to move.

Hand-looming suits a color like this. Woven on a loom by artisans in Bhadohi, the New Zealand wool sits at a low, even pile that stays smooth and consistent underfoot, so the melange carries the interest rather than a raised pattern. A low pile also holds the tone steady under strong daylight, since a deeper pile would break the same color into shadow and read darker in the corners. In practice that makes Camel an easy floor to live on: warm enough to soften a room with hard architecture, and even enough that furniture can be moved without leaving the surface looking uneven.
