As a geometric runner rug, Fieldwork stretches its stacked composition along a hallway or galley kitchen, the horizontal bands and fine pinstripes reading like rows of a worked field as you walk the length of it. The runner runs through espresso brown, deep burgundy, tan, and a bright orange accent, a warm, grounded palette that brings a narrow corridor to life without overwhelming it. Designed in New York and hand-tufted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.75 inch pile that cushions a high-traffic path while holding the pattern crisp. Made to order in any length and width, and any of over 1,200 wool colors, so it fits the run of your space exactly. Each piece is ready in 2 to 3 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Sizing a Geometric Runner for a Hallway

A geometric runner asks for a little planning, because its lines do the most when they have room to run uninterrupted. Fieldwork suits long, narrow spaces, a hallway, an entry, the strip of floor along a kitchen counter, where its stacked bands and pinstripes can extend without a break and lead the eye through the space. Leave a few inches of bare floor on either side so the pattern sits framed rather than wall to wall, and center it on the path people actually walk.

Hand-tufting is what lets the runner hold its detail over a long format. Artisans in Bhadohi set New Zealand wool through a stretched foundation by hand, then shear the pile level so every band and stripe stays even from end to end, even at length. That consistency is what keeps a long geometric pattern from drifting.
