Burnt orange lines drift across a warm cream ground on Sirocco, a Moroccan shag rug drawn by hand into a loose diamond lattice. Each diamond holds a feathered core that branches like a small plant, and no two repeat exactly. The lines bow the way a weaver's hand moves, and the deep pile softens every edge, so the pattern settles into the wool with an easy, sun-faded warmth. It grounds a bedroom, a reading corner, or a low seating area with texture you feel first underfoot.

Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 1.5 inch pile that feels long, soft, and cushioned. The burnt orange and cream palette is the design, so it is made to order in the size your room needs, down to exact dimensions. Made to order in 6 to 7 weeks, it ships free worldwide, duties included.

Construction: Hand-knotted shag

Material: 100% New Zealand wool

Dimensions: Standard sizes available online, with fully custom sizes on request

Pile Height: 1"

Origin: Handmade in Bhadohi, India — a region renowned for fine carpet weaving

New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. It also takes dye deeply, which is what gives the colors their depth. Some initial shedding is normal and settles within the first few weeks. Why New Zealand wool →

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

See our rug care guide for more tips.

Shipping: Knotted shag rugs are handmade to order and typically ship within 6–7 weeks. Once dispatched, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

The Craft

Made the Long Way

Your rug doesn’t exist yet. It starts when you order: master artisans spin the wool, dye it to your color, then knot it by hand, row by row.

What Makes a Boho Rug Feel Collected, Not Decorated

A boho rug earns its name from looseness, from pattern that looks gathered over time rather than laid out to plan. Sirocco, a Moroccan shag rug in burnt orange and cream, leans into that fully. The diamond lattice is drawn by hand, so the lines drift and bow, and the feathered cores inside each diamond never repeat exactly. In a sun-faded burnt orange over cream, it brings the warmth and imperfection that make a room feel lived in instead of staged. Layer it under a low bed, a floor cushion, or a pair of rattan chairs, and let mismatched textures gather around it.

The deep shag comes from the knotting. Each knot is tied by hand and left at a long 1.5 inch pile, which gives the surface its softness and lets the pattern settle into the wool rather than sit crisply on top. That blur is the point: it is what keeps the geometry warm. New Zealand wool holds the burnt tone with depth and wears in slowly over years.
