A runner has one job, to carry a long, narrow space, and a scalloped rug like Puddle does it while softening every step. The wavy outline breaks up the hard parallel lines of a corridor, so the eye follows the ripple rather than the walls. Leave a few inches of floor on either side so the looping edge reads clearly, and let the runner stop short of doorways rather than crowding them. In a galley kitchen or along the foot of a bed, the same form turns a passage into something gentler, and its warm browns ground the floor without darkening it.
Hand-tufting gives the runner its depth. Artisans set New Zealand wool through a stretched canvas by hand, then carve each concentric ring into gentle relief, a layered surface a flat weave cannot match. Across a long, narrow shape, that carving keeps the rings reading as ripples the whole way down.
Explore more long, narrow shapes in our Runner Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so Puddle can run the exact length your hallway needs.
