A runner has one job most rugs do not: it has to fit a corridor of space with very little margin on either side. With Ridge Duo, that long format actually flatters the design, because the horizon seam and the shift from horizontal to vertical ribs give the eye a sequence to follow as it travels the length of the rug. A solid color runner works especially well in a transitional space, where a clean two-tone field draws the path forward without fighting the doorways, art, and floors that a hallway already has to juggle. For a hall, leave a few inches of floor showing on each long side and stop the runner short of the doorways at either end. In a kitchen, a single run along the working aisle keeps the path soft underfoot and visually settled.
Hand-tufting suits a runner because the carved ribs hold their relief even across a long, narrow piece, set by hand through a stretched foundation and sheared so each channel stands proud. Browse more lengths in our Runner Rugs collection. Every Jubi rug is made to order, so a Ridge Duo runner can be woven to the exact length your space needs.
