Placing an Arch-Top Tile Rug
An arch-top tile rug behaves differently from a four-cornered one. The rounded crown gives the piece a clear top and bottom, so Sunset Mosaic wants to be read in one direction, set against a wall, a headboard, or the line of an entry rather than floated in the middle of an open floor. That orientation makes it an architectural gesture, echoing a window or a doorway while the block collage of peach, ochre, brick, and burgundy supplies the color.
The shape also concentrates the pattern. Because the field narrows toward the curve, the warm earth tones stack and layer as they climb, which draws the eye upward and makes a small footprint feel composed and deliberate.
Hand-tufting carries the form cleanly through the curve. Artisans set New Zealand wool through a stretched canvas by hand, then shear and comb the surface so ribbed and smooth panels alternate right to the arched edge.
