An olive green oval rug is made for gathering: slide it beneath a sofa and a pair of chairs, and the group settles around one deep, mossy curve. The green is earthy and dark, closer to moss and bay leaf than to anything bright, and it lightens slightly wherever the light catches the pile. Designed in New York and hand-tufted in Bhadohi, India, the rug is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.75 inch pile that softens a room's acoustics and gives feet a cushioned place to rest in front of the sofa. The oval's long axis follows the line of the seating, and its rounded ends let side tables, armchairs, and walkways meet it without a hard corner. Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen over time. Vacuum regularly with suction only (brushless head, no beater bar). If loose ends appear, clip with scissors (do not pull). Rugs ordered in standard sizes and colorways as shown on our product pages are eligible for return within 15 days of delivery in original condition. Rugs ordered with any customization are final sale.

Grounding a Sofa and Chairs With an Olive Oval Rug

A reliable test for a living room rug is the front legs: if the front legs of every seat in the group rest on the rug, the arrangement looks connected. An oval makes that easy to achieve, because its long sides can reach under the sofa and the chairs opposite while the rounded ends stay out of the paths at either side.
