A terracotta textured wool rug, Sienna Strata blends short strokes of burnt orange, caramel, and brown, all running the same way, with pale sand breaking through and the odd fleck of charcoal. The colors sit close together, so the surface reads as one deep, warm tone from across the room and separates into its strokes up close, like the layers in fired clay.

Designed in New York and hand-tufted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a 0.75 inch pile, dense and cushioned underfoot. Sienna anchors a room and pairs with walnut, leather, cream linen, or dark green. It works under a seating group, a dining table, or a bed, wherever a floor wants warmth and depth. New Zealand wool is naturally stain-resistant and springs back underfoot — footprints and furniture marks lift rather than settling in. Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen over time. Vacuum regularly with suction only (brushless head, no beater bar). If loose ends appear, clip with scissors (do not pull). Shipping: Tufted rugs are handmade to order and typically take 3–4 weeks to produce and dispatch. Once shipped, delivery takes 3–5 business days via DHL Express. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping on all rugs.

Can I customize the size or colors?

Yes. Every design is available in custom sizes and a curated range of wool colorways through our online customizer, or contact our studio for exact dimensions and access to more than 3,000 wool colors.

When will my rug ship?

Each rug is made to order. Hand-tufted rugs take 3–4 weeks to make, then ship free in about a week.

What is the return policy?

Rugs ordered in standard sizes and colorways as shown on our product pages are eligible for return within 15 days of delivery in original condition. Rugs ordered with any customization are final sale.

Are shipping and duties included?

Yes. All rugs ship free worldwide with all duties and tariffs included.

How will my rug arrive?

Your rug ships rolled and wrapped, free worldwide with duties included. Occasionally a large rug going overseas has to ship folded to meet carrier size limits. Any creases relax within a few days of laying it flat.

Will my rug look exactly like the photos?

Every rug is handmade, so slight variations in color and texture are natural. Screen settings can also affect how colors appear. Order a sample to see the color and feel the wool in your space.

Decorating Around a Terracotta Textured Wool Rug

Terracotta is an earth color, and it behaves like one: it grounds a room and makes everything above it look warmer. A terracotta textured wool rug adds depth to that effect. Sienna Strata is made up of strokes of burnt orange, caramel, and brown with pale sand between them, so the floor has the variation of clay or worn leather.

Start from what the rug already holds. Cream and sand upholstery pick up the pale strokes. Walnut and leather pick up the browns. For contrast, look across the color wheel to deep green or inky blue, in a plant, a velvet chair, or a painted door, and keep metals warm with brass or bronze.
