This camel shag rug runs warm and golden, a tan close enough to undyed fleece that it reads as the natural color of the wool rather than a dye choice. The long pile gives it real range: the tips lift toward wheat and honey where light reaches them, and the wool beneath drops into a deeper caramel, so the surface looks like a material rather than a flat tone. Natural fringe at each end is an option, carrying that undyed quality straight off the warp. Designed in New York and hand-knotted in Bhadohi, India, it is made from 100% New Zealand wool with a deep 1.5 inch pile that is soft and dense underfoot. Made to order in any size, so the tone can run under a full seating group or warm a smaller floor. Each rug is ready in 5 to 6 weeks and ships free worldwide, duties included.

Care: Shedding is normal and will lessen with use. Vacuum regularly on a high-pile setting. Clip loose ends with scissors (do not pull). Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean, white cloth (do not rub). Professional cleaning recommended.

Why Camel Reads as a Neutral

Camel is a color that behaves like a neutral, and the reason is that it sits close to the natural color of undyed wool. The eye recognizes it as a material rather than a decision, the way it does with leather, rattan or unfinished oak, and materials are much easier to build a room around than colors are.
